These removable seats allow the user to sit in the bath and wash. The user requires good upper body strength and balance to step into the bath and use this product safely. They are available in a range of heights and materials depending on the needs of the user and the height of the bath. They can be used with bath boards, overbath showers and are often used with additional grab rails.
Bath seats provide a sitting platform within the bath for a person to shower from or wash with the bathwater. The seat may help enable the user's descent to be staged. The user needs to be able to safely step into the bath and position themselves onto the seat or, if they are transferring with a bath board, they require good upper body strength to move themselves up and down to/from the seat.
If you have long legs or a short bath then you may find you are not able to stretch your legs when seated in the bath.
Bath seats can be made from a range of materials including wood or plastic. Click the link to read our advice on bath seat materials.
