Transfer boards with moving section or slide sheet

Image of Transfer boards with moving section or slide sheet

These transfer boards have additional transfer systems incorporated. One type has a transfer disc which moves within a central slot; the other has an integral roller.

To use: first place the board into position between two equal height seats, then carefully transfer yourself onto the disc or roller section and slide across to the new seating area.

Help and advice

Similar transfers can be made using a low friction roller and a rigid, padded bridging device.

When using a transfer board, it is important to ensure that the two ends are secure.

Although it is important to have a level surface on which to transfer, some people can find it easier to transfer onto a slightly lower surface.
