These are mainly standard dining chairs or armchairs with the additional feature of skids. The skids are flat and designed for sliding the chair and assisting the movement of the chair across the floor.
These wooden and metal framed dining chairs are all available with arms. The armrest style and backrest height vary. A few have the option of a waterproof seat liner.
When sat on a chair with skids you may find it easier to pull up to, or push away from, the table.
If you are unsteady when sitting to standing from a chair then these chairs may not be appropriate for you as they could move when you sit or stand.
An alternative, or addition, to using a chair with skids is to use a foot operated chair mover which can be used with most dining chairs. This foot operated chair accessory facilitates moving a person in one direction of movement towards a table. One variant of the system has an additional rear wheel which enables the seated user to be moved both towards and away from a table.
