The toys, games and equipment listed in this section of Living made easy for children have been designed to assist with your child's learning and development.
This includes sensory toys and equipment, puzzles, and games and equipment to assist your child to develop dexterity, co-ordination, recognition, sequencing and matching skills.
Toys for learning and development are unlikely to be provided by either the health service or social services. A paediatric occupational therapist should however, be able to advise on suitable toys and activities to develop the cognitive, fine and gross motor and visual skills of your child. They may also know of local toy libraries or parent support groups that lend toys to try out with your child before purchase.
