This section includes wedges and supports (e.g. cylinder shaped rolls) which your child lies on, most commonly on their stomach (prone lying), either in bed or on the floor.1
These wedges and supports may be inflatable or filled with beads (which will conform to your child's shape) or foam. There are a range of cover options available including vinyl, lambs wool, linen or PVC. Most come in a range of sizes and some may be made-to-measure. Some wedges have additional features such as a pommel or positioning straps.1

Introducing visual and auditory toys whilst using prone lying supports can encourage your child to raise their head and to look and follow the objects or sounds.6
As every child who needs this equipment will have unique and often complex needs, it should only be used under the guidance of an occupational therapist or physiotherapist.3-5
