Included here are positioning supports for use with your child whilst they are lying on their side (known as side-lying). These may either consist of a board with a vertical backrest or be a more complex, modular system.1
Options for these supports include mobile bases, positioning pads and wedges (e.g. for the head, trunk or knee), body straps and belts.1

Side lying in particular can provide your child with a secure posture enabling them to participate and manipulate objects such as their toys.6
As every child who needs this equipment will have unique and often complex needs, it should only be used under the guidance of an occupational therapist or physiotherapist.3-5
