Waterproof overstockings, or protectors may allow children with arm and leg dressings or casts to have a shower, bath or to go swimming. They are designed to go over the top of the dressing or cast and prevent water from penetrating.
Not all garments can be used for all three activities (bathing, showering and swimming)1, so always check this with the supplier before purchase. Furthermore, some of these waterproof protectors are not suitable for use on open or undressed wounds1 - again, check with the supplier prior to use.
