The footwear in this section is intended for use over dressings and plaster casts and following foot surgery.1 This type of footwear will usually be provided by the hospital following surgery.2

Also included are felt boots which can be used over dressings, but may also be used as indoor footwear as they provide more support than standard slippers.2

Help and advice

Most of this footwear would be supplied by the hospital after you have had surgery on your foot or leg. They are mostly designed for temporary use. You should always follow the advice of your doctor or health care professional when using this type of footwear.2
