Included in this section are details of services available that can adapt or make footwear to suit individual requirements. This includes bespoke footwear, adaptations to existing footwear, as well as services for people who require non-standard sizes.
In most cases, footwear adaptations or made-to-measure footwear should be prescribed by a podiatrist or orthotist. If you have a medical condition requiring specialist footwear, you may be eligible to have your footwear prescribed on the NHS. You need to have a referral from your general practitioner, consultant or Allied Health Professional for this service.1 Read our advice on choosing suitable footwear for further information.
