Specialised clothing and equipment for warmth and cooling

Image of Specialised clothing and equipment for warmth and cooling

Included in this section is a range of specialised clothing either for warmth or cooling. This includes battery heated clothing, chemical heat packs, cooling suits as well as clothing designed to keep you warm.

Clothing keeps you warm by allowing air to act as an insulator, by trapping the air against your skin. The air is warmed by your body heat and effectively prevents further heat loss. Therefore, in order to keep warm it is important to wear clothes that effectively trap air against your skin.1,2
