Help and advice
Mittens provide more warmth than gloves, as there is less surface area in contact with the cold air, however it may be more difficult to use your hands while wearing them. A thin thermal or silk glove liner under a heavier pair of gloves may help keep your hands warmer (Disabled Living Foundation, 2008), (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, 2007).
