This section includes desktop mounted video magnifier systems which provide you with a magnified image on a screen. The systems listed include a screen and camera, they are not designed to be portable. The printed material to be magnified is placed on a reading table, on most models the table can be moved left and right, and backwards and forwards.
The magnification range for these cameras depends on the size of television / PC screen that the image is displayed on but is usually considerably greater than that provided by handheld video magnifier systems.1,2 If you will be reading for significant time periods a desktop video magnifier may be the most suitable as they can display several words on the monitor at the same time. They may also be suitable for writing as there is room for writing under the camera.2
