This section contains slip-resistant materials which are available as mats, or as a roll of material from which a mat can be cut to the desired size.

Slip-resistant material can be used:

  • under bowls, cups or telephones to prevent them sliding or turning across a smooth surface
  • wrapped around handles and lids to increase grip.

Help and advice

It is essential that slip-resistant material is kept clean, following the manufacturers instructions, often by using specialised wipes, or soap and water. Some of the material can be machine washable or autoclaved.

Some slip-resistant material is not suited for use on a polished wood surface as it can remove the sheen.
