Check you are purchasing the appropriate type of kettle tipper
Specific tippers are required for different types of kettle i.e kettle tippers for 'traditional', 'jug', or 'cordless' kettles although some can fit more than one type. The kettles are either secured to a plate which forms part of the tipper or sit within a wire cradle and are secured with Velcro. As there are a wide range of kettles styles even within the different kettle types, check your kettle will fit a specific tipper before purchase.

Features to look for when choosing a kettle tipper:

• Some kettle tippers have a front cut away to allow the teapot or cup to line up closer to the tipper
• The height of the cradles or platform upon which the kettle is positioned varies and this will determine the height of the items you can fill with water.¹

When using a kettle tipper:

• Kettles should be left on the tipper while boiling, and can be filled using a jug.
• Fill the kettle with more water than required as some kettle tippers will leave some water in the kettle after it is tipped.¹
• Try using the kettle tipper to pour cold water first, to practice and find out where the cup or teapot needs to be positioned.

Possible alternatives to kettle tippers:

• Lightweight kettles also called travel kettles which only hold about half a litre of water and thus weigh less than traditional kettles
• Vacuum flasks which store, but do not boil, hot water and may be easier to pour.
• Table top hot water dispensers which dispense hot water at the touch of a button
• Wall-mounted kettles or water heaters which dispense boiling water from a tap.
