These adjustable rails may be floor-fixed or wall-mounted, some are hinged to fold up out of the way. Some models have front rails, which swing into position in front of the user for additional support.
Rails are only as strong as the wall / floor to which they are fixed and the fixings that are used. Many modern houses have internal partition walls that are not suitable for the installation of rails. Ensure that you are using the correct method and type of fixing for the material of the wall / floor. If in doubt consult a qualified and experienced tradesperson. For further information read our advice on toilet rails.
We recommend that a full assessment is made by a trusted assessor or occupational therapist to assess whether these rails are appropriate for your needs or whether an alternative solution is suggested.
