Baths in this section have whirlpool or spa facilities. Some of these features are standard, other baths have these features available as an option.
The majority of the baths listed are walk-in type of baths but may be accessed by using a hoist.
A whirlpool bath has jets built into the walls of the bath. These jets pump a mixture of water and air into the bath to create a rigorous hydro massage. A spa bath has nozzles in the base of the bath which release air bubbles into the water for a gentle massage.
Whirlpool baths tend to be easier to keep clean as a cleaning solution can be passed through the pipework. Most spa systems can only be cleaned with a long soak in a cleaning solution.
Although many people state hydrotherapy has helped ease their aches and pains, stress and/or arthritis, the medical benefits of hydrotherapy are not clear and you should seek the advice of a medical professional (such as your G.P.) as to whether hydrotherapy may help you.
