The baths in this section are the size of a standard bath.
The bottom of the bath remains static at a height suitable for a trolley transfer. The bath sides and ends raise and lower to submerge the bath bottom, and bather, in water.
Before replacing a standard bath consider the use of an over-bath shower, alternative bath equipment and/or method of transfer into the bath such as a bath lift.
Read our advice on buying an alternative bath.
Informed advice is available from community occupational therapists (OT's) who are often based in the Social Services department of your local council.
