Long handled sponge.
Lambs wool pads tend to be softer and lighter than sponges as they hold less water. Mitten flannels which have the soap inside or in a pocket may assist people who can use only one hand.
These long handled products may help people with a limited range of movement in their wrists or hips and could compensate for a lack of reach or strength. For a person with coordination problems such as tremors, ataxia, or athetoid movements, stabilising the arm or using equipment to dampen the movements may help. Building up the handles may assist people who have a limited grip.
Some of the products may be used seated in a shower, in which case the height of the seat is very important. Ensure that the seating is stable, especially if bending down to the feet. Click here to see our shower seating.
