The baths in this section have a shallow internal depth.
Some models are designed to rest on the rim of a standard bath.
Shallow baths are not as deep as standard baths and can be easier to transfer into and out of. However, the user can still experience difficulties if transferring from sitting to standing from the bottom of the bath. Grab rails may be appropriate to assist transfers.
Consider the depth of the water in the bath and whether you will be satisfied with a shallow water level.
If a carer is assisting, then the height of the bath is also significant for them as baths with a higher bottom help to limit bending and hence back strain and possible injury. Some shallow baths are height adjustable which resolves this issue as they can be raised to suit the user and the carer.
