Suction rails

Image of Suction rails

Suction rails are available in different types and sizes. They have levers that depress to create a vacuum and then raise to break the vacuum seal.

Some of them are adjustable in length. This can be useful for professionals assessing for a grab rail, for travel purposes, or in situations when a rails cannot be fixed permanently.

Help and advice

Use these rails with caution.

Ensure that the surface they are fitting onto is smooth, otherwise they may not seal or the seal may break when in use. Be particularly cautious if using on tiles that have a contoured surface. They work best on larger smooth tiles.

If possible, it is best to install grab rails permanently assuming this is possible and the wall is strong enough. Or is an alternative solution needed? Perhaps by strengthening the wall, using a different type of rail such as a bath fixed rail or by using some type of bath equipment.
