This section contains toilet frames which can be placed round, or fixed to a toilet and provide a hand-hold on either side. This provides a secure hand hold to push up from when getting on and off a toilet. Some toilet frames also have a seat to raise the height of your toilet. This may help when standing from the toilet.
The height setting (of both the rails and/or seat) most suited to you will depend on your needs, and your personal measurements. Read our advice on toilet height. For individual assessment and information contact your local social services and ask to arrange an assessment with an occupational therapist.
The choice of which frame to use will partly depend on the space available. Using a toilet seat with frame requires sufficient room around the toilet for the frame's legs to fit in to. Pipes running along the wall at the back of the toilet, boxed-in pipes or items such as a radiator may obstruct the frame1.
