Urinals

Image of Urinals

This section includes urinals and accessories. Urinals are available for both men and women or as unisex models. Some have non-return valves to limit spillages.

Some urinals are designed for use when travelling and can be sealed, or thrown away. Collection devices are available containing crystals that absorb urine forming a gel.

Help and advice

If you have difficulty getting to the toilet in time then portable receptacles may provide a prompt alternative, freeing you from having to reach a toilet everytime you wish to relieve yourself.

Pants are available with Velcro or poppers fastenings that can be released to drop the front of the pants forwards. This eliminates the need to pull pants down, allowing access for urinals or to change incontinence pads. If you wear trousers you may wish to have the fly lengthened to facilitate easier access. Using Velcro to fasten the fly may be easier than a zip (dots of Velcro on one side and a Velcro strip on the other is easier to open than two Velcro strips).1

An alternative may be to use a commode positioned in another part of your home such as a bedroom.
