Wall to floor rails are right-angled rails which are fixed to both the wall at the back of the toilet and the floor beside the toilet. They can be used individually to the left or right of the toilet or in pairs on both sides of the toilet. They may be useful beside a toilet, bath or bed to provide support and stability when standing.
View references and sources of further information ›Wall to floor toilet rails may be particularly suitable when the toilet does not have an adjacent wall. Rails are only as strong as the wall to which they are fixed and the fixings that are used. Many modern houses have internal partition walls that are not suitable for the installation of rails. Ensure that you are using the correct method and type of fixing for the material of the wall. If in doubt consult a qualified and experienced tradesperson.
We recommend that a full assessment is made by a trusted assessor or occupational therapist to assess whether these rails are appropriate for your needs or whether an alternative solution is recommended. For more information read our guide to toilet rails.
