DLF's summary
Rectangular wall-mounted telephone ringer; connects to phone socket installed near phone. Slide switches adjust volume and tone. Doubler socket connects to optional weather-resistant outdoor ringer, A158.
Help and advice
Some models have an adjustable ringer volume and/or tone control, some are combined with a flashing light which flashes when a call is received.
These amplifiers either plug into the phone line/socket, or have a microphone which detects your phone ringing and triggers the ringer to ring. If the model plugs into the phone line check whether it has a socket/jack which your phone can plug into. If it doesn't then you may need to purchase a telephone socket doubler so you can plug in your phone and the ringer.
Some models require a mains adaptor, others are powered by batteries or the phone line itself.
Alternative options you may wish to consider include:
- Flashing call indicator lights for telephones
- Household lighting kits to indicate phone calls
