Lighting on your stairs

Image of Lighting on your stairs

This section includes equipment which automatically turns a light/s on when movement is detected and products which enable you to add wall mounted switches or remote controls to your existing lighting with minimal or no rewiring.

Many of the products listed will not work on their own but only in conjunction with another product, which will also be listed on these pages. For product specific information read the individual product descriptions. Products titled 'kit' should contain both / all parts required.

Help and advice

If any rewiring is required this should be completed by a competent qualified electrician. To search for electricians in your area with the required certification (Part P Certification) visit the Competent Person Register

Energy efficient bulbs cost less to run and help reduce carbon emissions which contribute to global warming. However, energy efficient bulbs take a few minutes to reach their full brightness. Thus it may be a good idea to stick with traditional bulbs on your stairs so you can rely on receiving adequate light as soon as you switch your light/s on.
