Thus they may alert a carer or relative that you require help. Some are triggered when you press a personal alarm button or pull a pullcord, others are triggered by sensors such as a fire alarm.

  • They may not have automatic safety mechanisms in place to alert you if their batteries fail or there is a mains power cut


  • These units personal triggers may not use industry standard radio frequencies and consequently could suffer interference, failing to trigger the alarm
