Laryngectomy wear

If you have had a laryngectomy, you are usually advised to wear clothing that is loose around your neck, or a stoma cover which will moisten and filter the air to allow you to breathe more comfortably. Included in this section are cravats which may be worn over smaller covers, and tops which conceal the stoma, whilst at the same time allow easy access for care.

The National Association of Laryngectomee Clubs and Macmillan Cancer Support have further information on stoma care and appropriate protection for your stoma (The National Association of Laryngectomee Clubs, 2011), (Macmillan Cancer Support, 2008).
