The plates and bowls listed here are designed to provide a 'wall' against which food can be pushed onto the spoon or fork. They allow you to have greater control when using one hand, reducing the risk of spilling food over the edge of the plate.

If eating with one hand it is often a good idea to use a slip-resistant material underneath the plate or bowl to ensure it does not move while you are trying to load food onto a spoon or fork. You may also wish to consider using combination cutlery to further assist with one-handed eating.

A plateguard could also assist with one-handed eating.
