Our standards

Living made easy aims to include information on every item of daily living equipment available in the UK along with all known suppliers of that item that wish to be listed. The website is maintained by DLF, the UK’s leading national charity helping older and disabled people live independently at home with equipment.

DLF’s core value is impartiality. This means we list all known suppliers of each item on the website. However, suppliers come in all shapes and sizes - some will offer excellent customer service, but some may use sharp practices to take advantage of vulnerable customers.

To help guide people to good quality suppliers, DLF orders national suppliers according to how well they meet our standards and provides less information about suppliers that have not updated their details within the last two years. These standards are based on objective criteria, such as whether companies have signed up to various industry codes of practice or are manufacturers of their own product.

This doesn't necessarily mean that suppliers that don't meet our standards offer poor customer service. It simply means we have no objective way of demonstrating that they offer good customer service as they are not, for example, members of trade associations with codes of practice. We would encourage all suppliers to sign up to any relevant codes of practice so that they can demonstrate they meet our standards.

However, any supplier who does not wish to be listed on the website can contact our Data Services team to ask to be removed.
